Thousands expected to attend Mount Isa Motor Show
Buchanan Park will be filled with classic cars and bikes on Sunday.

There will be something for everyone at this Sunday’s Mount Isa Motor Show, says Brett Peterson, although there’ll be much more on offer for petrol heads.
This is the 11th annual event, put on by Mount Isa Motorsports and Recreation Inc, and around 2000 people are expected to roll through the gates of Buchanan Park to get a glimpse of some of the best vehicles in the North West.
“There are a lot of car enthusiasts in Mount Isa and they’ll be excited to get their cars out and show them off,” said Mr Peterson, who is the president of the committee.
“There’ll be motorbikes as well, but I would say there will be something for everyone because the Mount Isa Community Markets are going to come out and be a part of it, too.
“You’ll be seeing vehicles that you don’t see every day out on the road – cars and bikes that you didn’t even know were in this part of the world.”
Mr Peterson will present three vehicles at Buchanan Park on Sunday, including his modified 1977 Toyota LandCruiser, with around 80 exhibits likely to be on show.
The Mount Isa Motor Show will run from 10am to 2pm, with tickets $5 at the gate for those aged 13 and above.
